Please volunteer & pass this on to everyone you know.  Let’s make a difference. Thanks.

The Animal Care and Control Center (the St. Louis City Pound) is in desperate need of volunteers to walk the dogs or cuddle the cats.

These animals do not leave their small kennels unless there is a volunteer to take them out. That’s right they are in their kennels 24/7.

Animals fail to thrive when they are caged like this, making their adoption less likely, when they stop responding to human attention.

If you or anyone you know who is downsized, furloughed, between gigs, retired, works evenings, or is a stay-at-home mom or dad—anyone with time and/or a flexible schedule—could give a couple of hours a week to these animals, it would really help in keeping the animals healthy for possible adoption.

There will be volunteer training this Saturday, May 16.  Training takes just one hour.

Please, please call Kathy Jarowicz, the volunteer coordinator at 314.353.5838 to sign up for your training.  After you are trained you can walk starting a 9:00 a.m. on Monday–Saturday.

Not  only will you be helping the animals, but walking is the best exercise for humans, too! You can burn some calories and generate endorphins (happy-brain hormones) in the process. See? Feel-good volunteer opportunity!

The pound is located at 2120 Gasconade at I-55.
